Characteristics
True basil oil is a
colorless or pale yellow liquid
with a light, fresh, sweet, spicy scent and a balsamic undertone. A
tender annual herb, with very dark green, oval leaves and an erect
square stem up to 24 inches high, bearing greenish or pinky-white
flowers. The whole plant has a powerful aromatic scent.
